RuthAnn and I did an Instagram Live together about what it was like to work together, and chatted about:

→ how to know when it’s time for a website upgrade

→ options for website redesign: custom v. DIY

→ BTS of what it was like to go through the website refresh process

Here is the email newsletter inspired by our interview. I send out 1 coaching ask, 1 affirmation, and 1 action on a weekly-ish basis to help you apply these concepts to YOUR life and business.

Coaching Ask: How do you know you’re ready for a web site upgrade?

Let’s be real — a web site upgrade is a PROJECT with lots of moving parts like branding, images, copy/messaging, SEO and website design.  I was ready for an upgrade when I felt like my website wasn’t performing at its best.

With the changes in Squarespace’s design engine, tweaks to my own vision and messaging, and the fact that I was signing more clients through social media than my website, I felt it was time to update my website so it can be an online store front that supports my sales process.

Affirmation: It’s safe to hire expert support.

Listen, I’m good at certain things.  Transferring a website over to Squarespace’s newest version and SEO optimization just aren’t one of them.  😂

When it comes to investments, I like to think in terms of time and money as being my assets.  That’s why the website refresh package was a good fit for me — I was able to save time and money by using one of RuthAnn’s ready-to-go templates, and invest the money on her expert support for the more complex things like website/blog/domain transfer, some customization, and SEO optimization.

By outsourcing that piece, I could free up my time to dust up my website copy so it was in my voice and vision.

Action: What’s one thing you could delegate or outsource today?

It’s okay to start small and delegate/outsource little by little.  It takes time to learn how to work with a team, collaborator, or service provider.  But the process is worth it when you create something beautiful as a final result (that was better than what you could do on your own).

PS: Don’t forget to enter to win a 1:1 Business Breakthrough coaching session to celebrate!  I’m giving away 3 sessions this month to help you to get more visible or sell without the ick.

With joy,
